THE FULLEST Scopes: Learning & Discerning

The theme for February is sageness defined as:

  1. Skill in perceiving, discriminating, or judging: acumen, astuteness, clear-sightedness, discernment, discrimination, eye, keenness, nose, penetration, perceptiveness, percipience, percipiency, perspicacity, sagacity, shrewdness, wit.
  2. Deep, thorough, or mature understanding: insight, profundity, sagaciousness, sagacity, sapience, wisdom.

In January, we reflected on and consolidated our values, relationship goals, desires, resources and investments (material and immaterial). As of the third of February, once Mercury changes direction, we’ll have all planets in direct motion and an ongoing stellium in Capricorn to navigate. Status and achievement may vie for our attention, but it’s the deeper wisdom that satiates the soul. The first two weeks of the month have the potential to widen and shift the angle of our lens. Taking the bird’s eye view can illuminate the ways in which we’re stuck. The solutions we’re seeking begin with a mindset. As they say, we cannot solve a problem at the same level of consciousness that created it. Such head banging will only intensify the frustration. What happens when we approach the same issue through soul-centered eyes? What is the underlying truth and meaning here, beyond the material plane? If Earth is a school, what’s the syllabus?

Our physical world aspirations are perfect containers for our soul’s evolution. As we advance towards our goals, we’re confronted with various lessons that test our intention and integrity. The more we align with our soul’s code, the more awareness we have regarding these lessons.

From a spiritual perspective, it’s less about “passing” such learnings and more about integration. We aren’t punished or rewarded. We’re simply made aware of the material, the meat of the issue, again and again until it’s metabolized. We have free will. We have a choice. And we have feedback, from ourselves, from others, from our world. Capricorn governs this dance, the karmic boomerang. And although it can feel like a burden, living at this conscious level of personal responsibility and accountability actually sets us free. It’s not that we’re meant to live without hurdles or setbacks. It’s that we’re meant to build the grit and resilience to trust ourselves to navigate them.
