7 Things with Holly Owens of Wellthy Belly

Holly Owens' passion for health and wellness slowly started about four years ago and has grown into a full blown love affair. After being diagnosed with Lyme disease, she became passionate about educating others in non-toxic living, body positivity, and how to find balance within the wellness world. Her mission is to encourage others to take control of their health so they can realize that they can actually heal themselves. Holly uses her platform to bring awareness to the matters in our everyday lives that can be detrimental to our health in hopes that others will also want to make the change to a more holistic and natural lifestyle. We caught up with the popular blogger to ask her to share the seven things she's most vibing on at the moment. This is what she said...

1 | Propolis spray --

Beekeeper’s Naturals Throat Spray is one thing I won’t travel without. It boosts your immune system, kills bacteria, helps heal sore throats, and can kill germs associated with food poisoning. Propolis is basically the “glue” that keeps everything together within the hive. It is typically a mixed resin of beeswax, saliva, sap, and various botanical products in the surrounding area.

2 | Gua sha --

I’ve been super into gua sha for about a year and a half now and it’s so great for reducing puffiness as well as lifting and sculpting. Gua sha is a type of stone that can be shaped many different ways, and each side can have a different benefit.

3 | LUMION Mist --

I always keep LUMIONskin Mist in my car. It’s hydrating but also kills any bacteria on your skin, so I’ll use it after my workouts to prevent any blemishes from popping up.

4 | Bees --

I love these little creatures and am so fascinated by them. Everyone is scared of bees, but really honey bees are friendly and don’t actually want to sting you -- it’s just their defense mechanism. They are crucial to our environment and food supply. The main cause of bees’ decline is due to pesticides and chemicals, so you can do your part by not using heavy chemicals in your garden and by creating a bee friendly area by planting lavender, thyme, rosemary, poppies, and sunflowers.

5 | Berkey Water filter --

I finally got a Berkey a few months ago and wish it hadn’t taken me so long to take the plunge! This water truly tastes different and is so crisp and delicious. The Berkey has two filters -- a carbon filter and a fluoride filter -- and together they can remove heavy metals, fluoride, parasites, viruses, bacteria, and so much more. To see what has been detected in the water in your area, go to the EWG website and type in your zip code.

6 | Lymphatic drainage massage --

When treating Lyme disease, helping out your lymphatic system is really beneficial. I’ve started to do lymphatic drainage massages regularly, and they are amazing! Even if you don’t have Lyme you can benefit from this massage as the lymphatic system helps the body fight off infections of any kind. It's comprised of a network of tissues and organs that enable the body to get rid of toxins, waste, and other unwanted materials. Benefits can range from reducing water retention, improving digestion, boosting the immune system, and even reduces the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks.

7 | Menstrual cup --

Teaching others to be aware of what is in your feminine products is so important to me. Did you know your tampons can be full of bleach, chlorine, fragrance, and pesticides? I switched to using a menstrual cup because it doesn’t have chemicals and is far better for the environment than pads and tampons… and it’s not as weird or scary as it sounds, I promise! If you’re not there yet then I recommend switching to 100% organic cotton pads and tampons. Holly Owens is a model and founder of Wellthy Belly.
