THE FULLEST Faves VI

Heading out of winter and into spring this month has led us to curate a list of a nourishing mix of snuggly bed buddies and teas, cleanses to help us move into the new season feeling fresh (and double as something you’ll actually want to eat), and flowers and natural materials to add to your home to honor Mother Earth in her time of full bloom.

Hot Water Bottle

Just recently, after using my friend’s hot water bottle, we were all reminiscing about that lovely childhood feeling of our mothers or grandmothers bringing us hot water bottles when we weren’t feeling well. Immediately, I purchased a 100% rubber bottle online and found this cute sheepskin cover to case it in. My husband usually warms up my side of the bed for me at night because I am always freezing, so I’m excited to get back to using a hot water bottle, this time as a nightly ritual!

The S.O.U.P. Cleanse by Elissa Goodman

The S.O.U.P. Cleanse by Elissa Goodman is one of my favorites because it is filled with hearty, nutrient dense breakfasts, lunches and soups. I don’t feel deprived whatsoever while on it, and also love that it is so convenient — not having to think about what to eat during the week is a nice change. There are a lot of meal delivery companies that double as a cleanse for your body, but I have never been able to find something I also enjoy and look forward to eating each day. A lot of times, I’ll enjoy one or two things but dread the rest of the meals. Her cleanse is really flavorful and the winter one has the best plant-based hearty soups. We are so excited to be a part of the Elissa Goodman cleanse — now everyone that partakes in the cleanse will enjoy two Warm Feelings™ saffron lattes, and also receive a special discount. Sign up for her winter cleanse here.

Hario Tea Steeper

I like making tea the old school way — loose leaf. Not only is it better for the environment to ditch the tea bag, it's better for you because most tea bags are made with plastic, so you’re just heating plastic filled herbs. Even if they’re made with paper, there is usually some sort of lining. Growing up, my family always had a teapot and tea kettle going, and if they had to use a tea bag they dreaded it. When I’m not on the go, I like to use a teapot like this to steep my tea.

Hyacinth Flowers

Every year for Persian New Year, families put together a table setting (called a Haft-seen) that includes an assortment of seven or more items that represent nature’s rebirth. Other items include vinegar for wisdom and patience, garlic for good health, apples for beauty, sprouts for rebirth, coins for prosperity, sumac for the sunrise and spice of life, and eggs are painted to represent fertility. Persian New Year falls on the spring solstice and these flowers in particular honor and represent springtime itself. I love when I start to notice them around at the farmers market. I make a point to buy them because they smell incredible and are only around for a few short weeks!

The Surfrider Malibu

I’ve been to my fair share of hotels but there is something about The Surfrider Hotel in Malibu that makes me feel at peace from the moment I walk through the door. I love the vibe and aesthetic — and the staff are so accommodating. Whenever my husband and I need some time away to reflect, whether just the two of us or with some friends, we head there for a weekend night or two and feel refreshed and ready for the week.

Heritage House

I’ve been really interested in sustainable building lately and have been dreaming of the day we find a space to remodel using only the highest quality, environmentally-friendly materials. I am interested in using things like wool insulation, earth-based plasters, and earth-friendly home wrapping materials. This website is a great resource for learning more about sustainable building.

Shroom Baby

For my previous pregnancy, I put together a formulation of special adaptogens to take daily as an evening tonic. These are all mushrooms that I felt comfortable with taking in my second and third trimester but I highly suggest you consult your herbalist or physician before taking anything, especially if you aren't used to taking any supplements like this.Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp Reishi
  • 1 tsp Cordyceps
  • ½ tsp Pearl
  • 2 tsp Lions Mane
  • 1 tsp Chaga
  • 1 tsp He Shou Wu
  • 1 tbsp Tocotrienals
  • 1 tbsp Cacao Butter
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • Manuka Honey to taste

Instructions:

  • Add the ingredients to a high speed blender with 12oz hot spring water. Turn on high and enjoy this creamy mushroom tonic in your favorite mug!
