Cancer, Casually: Matt Coulter of the BeYOUtiful Foundation

This week Matt Coulter joins the show to discuss the healing power of giving. Along with Riawna Capri and Nikki Lee, the amazing lady bosses at LA’s Nine Zero One Salon, Matt heads up the BeYOUtiful Foundation. Together they’ve created a community for people of all ages that have defied the odds against cancer. BeYOUtiful’s mission is to make everyone feel beautiful throughout their experience -- and because hair is such a major part of the cancer journey, they’ve connected with top salons and stylists throughout the country to create BeYOUtiful Days -- offering local cancer survivors help with styling, cutting, and wig education -- from diagnosis to remission. (Lindsay even got her hair cut by Mandy Moore’s stylist!)Having left a successful career in real estate, Matt sought something more fulfilling, wanting to help people with his talent in business creation. After seeing a number of his nearest and dearest go through cancer he was inspired to create the foundation in the middle of the night while on vacation (isn’t that always the way?) and immediately knew his path forward. Since then, he’s gone on to create the foundation’s Wonder Women Program and Shop 143 -- his latest online not-for-profit store.Feeling as inspired as we are by this positive tornado of support? If this episode taught us anything, it’s that to make a difference, sometimes you just need to start... and the rest will follow.Listen on iTunes or Spotify.[soundcloud id='676406648' height='false']
