The Fullest’s Guide to SXSW

The Fullest team is saddlin’ up them cowboy boots and ten-gallon hats and gettin’ ready to head on out to Austin for South by Southwest! Before we go, however, we’ve done our (Instagram) research as all good millennials do and talked to some of our most Texan of friends to gather up a round of spots we’re dying to check out. So, in the spirit of good ol’ southern hospitality, we’re sharing!Hope to see you there! Yeehaw! (Sorry -- we may be a bit too excited.)Picnik -- Picnik is an allergen and paleo-friendly restaurant with a devoted following. It's no wonder they’ve been popping up all over the city. Some options you can choose from are vegan queso dip, cassava flour pancakes, tacos made with Siete Food’s grain-free tortillas and grass-fed vanilla ice cream sandwiches -- need we say more? We’re already planning our meals (and desserts) around it. Curcuma -- Proudly proclaiming that they’re “AUSTIN’S FIRST GOLDEN MYLK,” Curcuma is a plant-based food truck serving up Ayurvedic tonics, lattes and small bites to morning and lunch-hour customers. Turmeric was founder Rachel Musquiz’s gateway drug into the world of wellness and you can see it incorporated heavily throughout the menu. We’ve been told the kitchari and golden mylk latte is the way to go, but we’re sure any of their delicious and healing treats will do the trick.Josephine House -- This cottage looks like it could be straight out of a movie set. Josephine House is the sister restaurant to Jeffrey’s, with the same team behind Austin’s popular Elizabeth Street Cafe and Lamberts. The locally sourced daily menu is as eclectic as they come and puts a twist on southern classics. Barton Hot Springs -- Located in the middle of Austin’s Zilker park, the temperature of these hot springs is consistently a comfortable and warm 70 degrees, making it the perfect spot to take a dip, year-round. And if swimming just isn’t for you, the surrounding Greenbelt has miles of trails for hiking and biking making this green oasis a must-stop in Austin.Hotel San Jose -- One of the few Bunkhouse properties in town, Hotel San Jose is a renovated bungalow-style motor court from the 1930’s. Even if you’re not staying here, you should still check it out as it’s just blocks away from downtown and perfect for lounging with friends, shopping and attending (or hosting) events.Mexic-Arte Museum -- Showcasing Mexican and Mexican-American art, the Mexic-Arte Museum aims to celebrate and promote understanding and cultural dialogue. They also host a variety of fun events throughout the year.Outdoor Voices -- Austin is the OG location of our favorite workout brand and we can't wait to check out where the story all began. If you’re a local, it’s worth following them for their rad events, such as sunrise yoga on the rooftop of Austin’s public library.Olive -- This store has all the trendiest brands for the most “It” of crowds. With another location in Brooklyn and an online shop, it's no wonder this store would be a popular choice amongst Austin’s cool girls. Shamelessly, we already have our wishlist ready to go.Las Cruxes -- Las Cruxes is a rad concept store started by Veronica Ortuno. The entrepreneur wanted to create a space where creatives could “express themselves, unhindered by expectations and censorship.” Part store, part art gallery and part community space, Las Cruxes has anything and everything you never knew you ever wanted!
