Matcha Margarita Very Much

On those days when you need to take it up a notch and also calm the hell down, matcha tea is your BFF. The bright green powder is made of finely ground green tea leaves and is loaded with energy-boosting caffeine and L-theanine, an amino acid that can ease anxiety and promote some much-needed relaxation. In this tasty beverage, matcha teams up with our favorite Caribbean spirit: crystal clear tequila, plus a hefty dose of vitamin-loaded sweet fruit to compliment its truckload of healthy antioxidants. Put it all together and it’s just the thing to take you to that perfect spot in between the dichotomy of woke (if you will) versus chill.

MATCHA MARGARITA INGREDIENTS

1½ ounces Tequila¾ ounce Organic Lime Juice¼ ounce Fresh Organic Orange (or Pink Grapefruit) Juice¾ ounce Organic Light Agave Nectar½ teaspoon Matcha (this one from Sun Potion is our fave)

FOR THE GLASS:

⅓ cup Organic Granulated Sugar

MATCHA MARGARITA ASSEMBLY

1 | Wet the entire rim of your glass with lime juice by running the wet side of a small piece of lime along it.2 | Place the granulated sugar in a shallow bowl and dip the rim of the glass in it. Set the glass aside.3 | Combine all the drink ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice, and shake for 30 seconds. 4 | Strain the liquid into the prepared glass, over ice, and garnish with a slice of lime on the edge. Enjoy!
