Dana James on Diet Dogma

We recently sat down with health extraordinaire, Dana James, to talk about all things nutrition. Dana is the founder of Food Coach NYC and LA, “a functional medicine nutrition practice that helps correct biochemical and psychological imbalances through nutrition intervention and psychological exploration.” While that may sound like a tough pill to swallow, Dana makes it easy, creating everyday plans that women can follow to get (and stay) healthy.Dana’s initial nutrition training was in orthomolecular medicine at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in the UK. She has since become a functional medicine practitioner, trained through the Institute of Functional Medicine and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. Not to mention, she graduated from Columbia University’s Medical Nutrition Program. This is all after she received undergraduate degrees in both Finance and Economics, which she believes primed her brain to recognize patterns and the importance of the intangible-- things like goodwill and human relationships. Long story short: this lady knows what she’s talking about! What ultimately led Dana to seek answers was her own personal exploration of “diet” in the 80’s and 90’s. She sought to truly understand and know the truth about proper nutrition. Once she began to understand the relationship between the body and biochemistry, she formed a deep passion for elevating the lives of modern women. Today, we, along with thousands of other women, appreciate her holistic approach to wellbeing by looking into the relationship between food and feelings, science and spirituality, and conscious and subconscious thoughts. https://youtu.be/NNfmZicXrl4
