Perception Is Everything

We do not see things as they are, we see them as we are.
- Anais Nin

We all move through the world seeing exactly what we choose to see. Most of these choices are not made consciously. Often these choices stem from the beliefs we formed about our world and ourselves before we could even spell the word belief.

It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.
- Henry David Thoreau.

When we look at ourselves, we see who we’ve decided we are. We look for evidence of being too short in the hemlines of everything we wear. We look for evidence of our strength after we’ve accomplished a great workout. We look for proof that we’re too chubby by forcing ourselves into an ‘aspirational’ size smaller. We see only what we’re looking for...

So what if we truly chose what we are looking for?

What if we chose to look for evidence that we are supported by the Universe and then see it every time we manifest a great parking spot? What if we believe that everyone is part of a plot to enhance our well-being, especially when we face the most challenging people? What if we truly felt that we were born to shine? What if we knew that even obstacles lead us to our purposes?
